A Lunula was a halfmoon pendant worn by girls in Ancient Rome. Girls ideally worn them as an apotropaic amulet. The moon shaped pendants were called lunulae after the Roman moon goddess Luna.
Especially women and children trusted in the magical power to advert danger and disaster. It symbolises intuition, creativity and sensuality.
